The Sketa Oz Story

The SKETA OZ Group is the hub of all things 'Sketa Oz'.

Selina Kucks Entertainment, Theatre and the Arts
Under the Sketa Oz Umbrella
The Sketa Oz journey began long ago, with a dream - to create the best artistic experience possible and to grow that experience into something miraculous; something that could be shared with many, remembered by generations and enjoyed for all eternity.
Who are we?
The Sketa Oz Group is an artistic, forward-thinking entrepreneurial Australian brand, incorporating the following industries: The Arts, Design, Publishing and Education.

Presently under our umbrella is: Sketa Oz Design; ELK Publishing; Sketa Oz Philanthropy, and Australian children's author ~ illustrator, entertainer and entrepreneur - 'Sketa'.

Where did we come from?
Sketa Oz commenced way back in 1985, as a small ballet school, educating outback South East Queensland children, as part of the Queensland Government - PECAP Programme.  In early 2000, Sketa Oz International Ballet Company and Seoul Royal Ballet merged, to forge new territories in Australia.  In 2009, the literary leg - ELK Publishing commenced in Seoul, South Korea; it too took up official residence in Australia, in 2014.

So, where did the term 'Sketa' come from?
The term 'Sketa' was acquired many moons ago, when Selina Kucks' grandfather, endearingly likened her to that of a buzzing mosquito - due to a severe, excess of energy.  Over the years, the nom' de plume stuck and Selina began using it to sign off, on all her artistic endeavours.

'Sketa' is also an acronym, for Selina's career and early business developments:

Selina Kucks Entertainment, Theatre and the Arts

Who are we today?
Today SKETA, with the accompanying term OZ has grown into an all encompassing brand that says everything about Selina - from staying true to her family roots, to building and nurturing unique, Sketa Oz businesses.

Looking forward
Sketa Oz looks forward to: creating unique opportunities for artists; empowering children through effective literary and artistic endeavours; and developing strong partnerships with like-minded groups who are just as passionate, creative, and innovative as us; groups who are willing to challenge the status quo when building rewarding, successful companies that benefit communities.

Our Purpose

As a group, the Sketa Oz Mission is to create the best, artistic experience possible; to grow that experience into something miraculous; an experience that will be remembered by generations to come and enjoyed for all eternity. Through building creative, artistic and educational businesses we aim to ‘make a difference’ in the world, cultivating a passionate love for the ‘arts’ and in turn, becoming the best version of 'us'.
