A Utopian dream

​This week, I came across a disturbing piece of news - that really made me think about what it is that we - as human-beings, want from life; from the world in general, as we are supposed to be co-habiting this planet, with similar aspirations of mind - peace.  

A religious leader of middle eastern descent - stood over a pit of dead bodies, while lecturing those of his followers - who stood on the banks, above him.  They appeared proud and grateful for their part in the senseless slaughter and decapitation of not men - but women and children.

How does one interpret that?

How does one not feel for those people and their families - if they even exist, anymore?  How do people find pleasure, in the taking of life - that was gifted to them by the heavens?  How does any God praise and find goodness, in the senseless cultural ridding, of a population?

What goes through the mind of a religious leader who appeared to praise his followers?  Is a leader to be revered for being able to manipulate the masses, to one's benefit? 

I have spoken of this many times, and every time...it breaks my heart.

Fear of another's culture, the people, their ways and beliefs, are what drives this insidious hatred and vendetta-oriented behaviour in mankind.  What is taught and accepted in a learning environment - is what is propelled by a race of people. This maybe the family home, or an area specifically set aside for group learning (schools), or a culture's religious arenas. 

What matters, is what is taught and propelled, as acceptable treatment and behaviour of others.  The boundaries of what is deemed respectable - is morally governed by those seeking power over others. Submission to such people is inevitable, if ignorance prevails - if individual thought is banished - if compassion for all living creatures is cast aside - if moral codes evaporate - if the will for dominance and the belief that one is better than, more worthy than or more valuable than another persists... and overrides the innate necessity, to just exist in harmony...in peaceful cohabitation.

People see what others have or have not. There is a constant state of comparison that sets in - greed overrides logic, and the natural processes of giving, and compassion. Then, we have war - with fear mongers at the helm of promoting disparaging and cruel amounts of racism and xenophobia of others.  How does one fix this? How?

I can only deduct, that such people have not the capacity to think for themselves and about what truly matters in life.

Noone wants to be at war or living with bloodshed, upon one's doorstep - living with the stench of pure evil, on one's hands.  How does one love a child, a wife, a family and be proud of one's behaviour - with the hands of evil? How does one justify that abhorrent behaviour?

I am beyond ideas, beyond words of understanding and comprehension; I just wish for the world to find love and kindness, in their hearts 💕
 
But maybe, I am praying for the utopian dream?
