This holiday period, I thought I would have a play around with Oven Bake Polymer Clay. It is not my usual working medium for ceramics and sculpting, but learning and finding out what is available in the world of art supplies, is always a good thing. I have to admit, my hands are quite sore after a stint of all this - I have not worked my hands this much, in quite a while. So, if you need a bit of hand strength, I highly suggest using this clay. It is not as pliable as I had hoped, even using a softener. I am not sure if it is because the goods sat in the shop for a while or if the clay, is actually meant to be this stiff. Henceforth, I was not so good in the manufacturing of these, because the longer I played around getting the pieces right, the quicker they hardened. So, I had to start again, many times over. Anyhow, they take about 15 minutes to cook in your standard oven, but at 130 degrees - any hotter and you will risk burning and releasing toxic chemicals that I wasn't about to try. So, I stuck to the guidelines. I call these little ones, my leafy angels. It seems appropriate to call them that.
Well, that is my play for these holidays. Oh, I actually made them into magnets. I forgot to tell you that part. lol 😂 You never know where these might end up.
